WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Katie Pounder scored her second game-winning goal of the weekend as the senior found the back of the net with 1:23 left to give the Lebanon Valley women's ice hockey team a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory at Wilkes University on Saturday afternoon.
Katrina Strauts gave the Dutchmen the lead in the first period scoring on the power play right before the 11-minute mark.
Victoria Scurto and
Erin Yorke assisted on the play. Wilkes responded with two power play goals in the second period to take a 2-1 lead into the third period.
Brenna Mulcahy tied things up 5:23 into the third off a feed from
Jess Dawe. The Dutchmen pushed the Colonels for the go-ahead goal and earned a power play opportunity with 2:29 on the clock. LVC took full advantage of the extra woman and Pounder knocked home the game-winner 1:06 into the opportunity and with 1:23 on the clock. Strauts and
Cheyenne Wilk had assists on the goal.

- Pounder led the team in shots with six and scored the game-winning goal against the Colonels for the second straight night. She was also a force on faceoffs winning 16 of 24.
- Strauts had another multi-point game with a goal and an assist to finish the regular season with a program record 23 points on program records 12 goals and 11 assists.
- Grace Mayer blocked a team-high four shots.
- Olivia Magneson earned the victory in goal with 22 saves.
- LVC was 2/8 on the power play and 6/8 on the penalty kill.
- The Dutchmen are the seventh seed in the UCHC Tournament.

Lebanon Valley will head north to Utica on Wednesday afternoon to take on second-seeded Utica University at the Nexus Center in the UCHC Quarterfinals. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
