UTICA, N.Y. – Shelby Guinard had a strong game in goal making 41 saves as the Lebanon Valley women's ice hockey team hung tough with 12th-ranked Utica University on Wednesday afternoon in a 4-0 defeat in the UCHC Quarterfinals at the Nexus Center.
The Dutchmen played strong defense against the second-seeded Pioneers holding the hosts off the board until 18:09 of the first period. LVC began a power play opportunity right at the end of the period. Utica came out of the intermission strong and scored a short-handed goal 50 seconds into the second period. The Pioneers would add a goal at 9:27 to increase their lead to 3-0. LVC fought hard putting four shots on goal in the final 10 minutes of the period but were unable to score. Utica added an insurance goal at 15:28 of the third to set the final score.

- Guinard stopped 13 shots in the first period, 12 shots in the second, and 16 in the third. She recorded 40-plus saves in the UCHC Quarterfinals for the second consecutive year. She finished the year with 524 saves
- Ioanna Christou led the team with two shots and two blocked shots.
- Brenna Mulcahy, Tiffany Anderson, and Erin Yorke all had two shots in the game.
- Anderson won a team-high eight faceoffs.
- LVC finishes the end with a school record 12 wins and qualified for the postseason for the second consecutive year.
