Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Women’s Ice Hockey Defeats Wilkes on Senior Night

HERSHEY, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's ice hockey team won their fifth consecutive home game on Friday evening with a 4-1 victory over Wilkes University on Senior Night at Hersheypark Arena.

The Dutchmen (11-12-1, 8-10-1 UCHC, 6-2-1 MAC) honored their six seniors, Jordan Millam, Jade Julius, Katie Pounder, Shelby Guinard, Olivia Magneson, and Tate Murphy prior to the game. Once the game got underway, LVC struck first as Jess Dawe snuck a shot into the back of the net off a faceoff win by Tiffany Anderson. The Colonels evened things up a little over midway through the first period scoring on their first power play opportunity of the game. Pounder gave the Dutchmen back the lead a few minutes later as she lit the lamp off a beautiful cross ice pass from Katrina Strauts.

LVC kept the one-goal advantage for most of the second period until Strauts put away her team-leading 11th goal off a nice feed from behind the net by Brenna Mulcahy. Julius also assisted on the goal. The Dutchmen added an insurance goal in the third period as Tiffany Anderson scored off a great passing play from Jess Dawe and Mulcahy with the Dutchmen on an 3v1 break.
