HERSHEY, Pa. – Darion Benchich scored his team-leading sixth goal of the year for the Lebanon Valley men's ice hockey team in a tough 3-1 defeat to visiting King's College on Saturday evening at Hersheypark Arena.
The teams played scoreless hockey for 39 minutes of a defensive game that featured strong goaltending by both squads. The Dutchmen went on their first power play opportunity of the game late in the second period after killing off three penalties. Benchich gave the Dutchmen the lead 1:02 into the opportunity off assists from
Jordan Stear and
Blake Tosto. LVC kept the Monarchs off the scoreboard until 11:53 of the third period when King's was able to score a short-handed goal to tie the game up. The Monarchs took the lead with 1:04 left on a power play goal. King's added an empty net goal to set the final score.

- Chris Branch was strong in goal making 41 saves. He did not allow an even strength goal.
- Benchich led the team with five shots and has now scored five goals in the past two weekends.
- Tosto recorded his team-leading 14th point with his ninth assist of the year. The senior won a team-high 12 faceoffs.
- Stear recorded his third assist of the season.

Lebanon Valley will close out the season next weekend with a home-and-home series against Alvernia. The Dutchmen will head to Reading on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. start before hosting the Golden Wolves on Saturday for Senior Night at Hersheypark Arena.
