NEWTOWN, Pa. – Lebanon Valley College football punter Jeremy Bours Jr. was named the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Special Teams Player of the Week for the second straight week, as announced Monday in a release by the conference office.
Bours Jr. only punted three times in Saturday's tough 28-21 defeat to FDU-Florham, but the senior averaged 38.3 yards and placed two of his punts inside the 20. Bours Jr. had a long of 47 as he pinned the Devils' offense back with only one punt being returned for two yards. The senior was also the holder for all three made extra point attempts and for a 37-yard missed field goal attempt that went wide left with plenty of distance.
This marks the fourth time this season and the fifth time in his career that Bours Jr. has earned a weekly conference honor. This is also 10th Player of the Week award that a member of Lebanon Valley's football program has received this year.
Bours Jr. and the Dutchmen will return to the gridiron at noon Saturday, as the program will travel to take on Albright College in a rivalry matchup at Gene L. Shirk Stadium in Reading, Pa.
