ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's basketball team had three scorers in double figures in a tough 68-67 defeat on Tuesday evening at Thompson Gymnasium.
LVC scored the first four points of the game on a pair of layups by
Evin Timochenko and
Ryan Harder. Elizabethtown responded with a 7-0 run to take the lead.

Wil Laskowski and Timochenko powered the Dutchmen to a 7-0 run to take a two-point lead midway through the half. The game was tied at 26 when Smith knocked down three free throws with 4:27 on the clock. Tang knocked down a pair and then Harder scored the final seven points of the half to give the Dutchmen a 38-26 lead heading into the locker room. Harder blocked a shot with five seconds to go, grabbed the rebound, and then swished home a half-court buzzer-beater.
The momentum continued into the second half as Timochenko made it a 15-point game on a layup and free throw. The Dutchmen took their biggest lead of the game four minutes into the half as Tang scored on a layup to make it 47-31. The Blue Jays slowly chipped into the lead and got it down to eight points at 49-41 with 11:43 left. Tang knocked down the back end of two free throws and then Harder hit a jumper in the paint to bring the lead back to double digits. Elizabethtown scored on their next three trips down the floor to cut the lead down to 52-49 with nine minutes to go.
Karson Pavlik hit back-to-back three-pointers to get the lead back up to seven and then Timochenko stole the ball at half court and finished off a fast break with a layup off an assist by
Luis Garcia. The Blue jays once again slowly chipped into the lead and a three-pointer with just under four minutes to play made it a two-point game. Gracia knocked down a pair of free throws and then Smith hit a big three in the corner to give LVC a 67-63 advantage with 2:41 on the clock. Elizabethtown knocked down a three at the other end and then took the lead two possessions later with a jumper in the paint. The Dutchmen had a chance to win the game on the final possession, but a Timochenko jumper hit off the rim and off to the side.
Inside the Box
- Timochenko recorded his third double-double of the year with 14 points and 11 rebounds. The junior also had three assists.
- Harder continued his strong play with 16 points and six rebounds. The junior was 7-14 from the field and 2-5 from beyond the arc.
- Tang scored a season-high 13 points and grabbed three rebounds.
- Pavlik and Smith finished with eight points each.
- Garcia dished out six assists, grabbed five rebounds, and scored six points.
- Laskowski pulled down six rebounds.
- LVC shot 43.6 percent from the field, their second-best shooting night of the season. They also made 14 of 18 free throws for a season-best 77.8 percent.
