ANNVILLE, Pa. – Sophomore
Logan Hicks scored his first career goal on Tuesday, as the No. 6 Lebanon Valley College men's soccer team tied Lancaster Bible College 3-3 at Herbert Field.
Lebanon Valley (8-1-1, 1-0-0 MAC Freedom) and Lancaster Bible (4-5-2, 1-1-0 United East) battled until time expired, finishing the game in a stalemate. The Chargers got on the scoreboard first and had a 2-0 lead with less than 20 minutes remaining in the game. The Dutchmen then responded with a goal to cut the deficit in half, before Lancaster Bible added another point to regain the two-goal advantage. LVC answered back with two goals in the final nine minutes to even the score just before the end of play.
Offensive opportunities were hard to come by early in the game, as the contest remained scoreless until the game was over 34 minutes in. The Flying Dutchmen attempted to generate scoring chances throughout the opening half, taking a total of 11 shots. Lebanon Valley was also solid on the defensive end, limiting Lancaster Bible to just three shots during the first 45 minutes.
The Chargers opened the scoring 34:11 into the contest, taking a 1-0 lead on a goal by midfielder Andrew Cox. Neither team found the net during the remainder of the first half, giving LBC a 1-0 advantage as the game entered halftime. Lancaster Bible added another tally 26:14 into the second half, extending its lead to 2-0 on Cox's second goal of the afternoon.
Lebanon Valley then got on the scoreboard 5:10 later, trimming its deficit to 2-1 against LBC. Hicks got the program rolling offensively by sending a header into the back of the net, following a free kick. The Chargers responded 81:22 into the contest, making it a 3-1 game in their favor on a goal by forward Devyn Kintzer.
The Dutchmen answered right back with a goal of their own just 19 seconds later, narrowing their deficit to 3-2 against the Chargers. Junior forward
Aaron Weitzel scored on a shot that deflected off the hand of Lancaster Bible's goalkeeper before going into the back of the net. Lebanon Valley then evened the score with just 30 seconds remaining in the contest, making it a 3-3 game. Coming off a free kick, junior
Tyler Snavely came through in the clutch by sending a header into the back of the net to tie it. This would stand as the final score, as neither team found the back of the net during the final seconds.

The Dutchmen will return to action at 4 p.m. Saturday, as the program will host Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham Campus at Herbert Field.
