DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley football team put together a gritty performance on the road on Saturday nearly ending nationally-ranked Delaware Valley's record conference winning streak in a heart-breaking 21-17 defeat during the Aggies' Homecoming.
Delaware Valley (6-1, 6-0 MAC) scored on the opening drive of the game taking the ball downfield 68 yards in nine plays culminating in a three-yard touchdown run. The Aggies converted a two-point attempt to take an 8-0 lead. The Dutchmen (4-3, 4-2 MAC) responded right back as
Braden Bohannon found
Jay Sisko open down the right side for a 61-yard touchdown reception. LVC missed the extra point attempt and the score remained 8-6.
The teams traded punts until
Luke Pollock had strip sack and recovered the fumble at the DVU 45 with 5:29 to go in the first half. LVC had an opportunity to take the lead, but
Tim Kissinger's 49-yard field goal try was off the mark and the score stay 8-6 at halftime.
The Aggies scored first in the second half on a 18-yard rush to take a 14-6 lead. The Dutchmen cut the lead to 14-9 with 1:58 to go in the quarter on a Kissinger 49-yard field goal. LVC got a stop on defense to begin the fourth quarter as
James Jackson picked off a pass at the LVC eight and returned it 27 yards. The Dutchmen used the momentum of the big play to drive the ball 65 yards in nine plays ending with a Bohannon two-yard touchdown run to take a 17-14 lead with 8:48 on the clock. Delaware Valley had a chance to tie the game with 1:14 to go but a 23-yard field goal was missed. LVC got the ball back and tried to run out the clock but the Aggies got three stops and used their three timeouts to get the back with 52 seconds needing to go 44 yards for the go-ahead score. DVU completed a couple passes to get the ball into the red zone and then scored the game-winning touchdown on a 10-yard pass with 14 seconds left.
Inside the Box
- Bohannon accounted for both of LVC's touchdowns in the games with a 61-yard pass and a two-yard run.
- The Dutchmen rushed for 92 yards led by Logan Klitsch with 55 on 12 carries.
- Jay Sisko caught two passes for 74 yards and one touchdown. Alex Vassallo caught five passe for 38 yards.
- Ryan Enright had another monster game on the defensive side of the ball with 15 tackles including 11 solo tackles and a forced fumble.
- Pollock had 12 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, and fumble recovery.
- Jackson intercepted his second pass of the year. LVC has intercepted at least one pass in all but one game this season.
- Jeremy Bours Jr. punted six times with a 36.2 yard-average and put two punts inside the 20. Kissinger kicked two 49-yard field goals and made one.

LVC will be back on Arnold Field next Saturday for the annual Pink Game against Alvernia University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. against the Golden Wolves.
