Enright Scores Defensive Touchdown in Homecoming Game Against King’s

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Ryan Enright ran a fumble back for a touchdown as the Lebanon Valley football team dropped a tough 35-21 decision to King's College on a rainy Homecoming Saturday at Arnold Field in Annville.

King's (5-1, 4-1 MAC) received the opening kickoff and drove the ball down the field 75 yards in 12 plays ending with a seven-yard touchdown pass to take a 6-0 lead after the extra point was missed. The teams traded punts before LVC (4-2, 4-1 MAC) used a 75-yard drive of their own that ended with a Bohannon one-yard run to take a 7-6 lead early in the second quarter. The scoring drive used 8:31 of clock as the Dutchmen rushed the ball 14 times and passed just once.

The Dutchmen stopped a long King's drive as Brent Moody forced a fumble at the LVC five-yard line that was recovered by the Dutchmen. However, the Monarchs got the ball right back recovering a fumble inside the five-yard line. King's took advantage of the turnover and scored a one-yard touchdown run to retake the lead at 13-7 with just under six minutes to play in the half. The Monarchs scored on an 18-yard run with 3:07 left in the half to take a 19-7 lead into the locker rooms.

King's grew the lead to 27-7 with a long 33-yard touchdown run to take a 27-7 advantage with 11:12 to go in the third. The Dutchmen started a big comeback attempt midway through the quarter as Ryan Enright picked up a loose ball in the backfield and returned it 15 yards for a defensive touchdown. Two plays later LVC got the ball back deep inside the red zone as Noah Caldani forced a fumble on a sack and Brody Robinson fell on the ball inside the King's 10-yard line. Bohannon cut it to a one-score game as he jumped over the line on a one-yard touchdown run with 5:18 remaining in the third. The Monarch defense stopped the Dutchmen offense from scoring the rest of the way and King's added a fourth quarter touchdown pass to set the final.
