ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley football senior defensive tackle Jake Marcus earned some national recognition on Tuesday as he was named to the D3football.com Team of the week for his performance at Widener on Saturday.
 
Marcus spent a lot of time in the Widener backfield recording three and a half tackles for a loss in a 27-24 double-overtime victory. He had seven total tackles including three sacks for 23 yards. All were season-highs for the captain. He also added a quarterback hurry.
 
This is the first career award for Marcus and he becomes the second Dutchman to be named to the D3football.com Team of the Week this year. Brody Robinson also earned the honor after the first game of the year. Marcus becomes LVC's 33rd selection to the Team of the Week since 1999.
 
The Dutchmen will face King's College on Homecoming Saturday at The Valley this weekend with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. against the Monarchs.
