LANCASTER, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley men's indoor track and field team had another strong performance on Friday as the team competed in the Mini-Dip Invitational at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster.
TOP PERFORMANCES AND MAC QUALIFIERS
Vinny Ferrizzi and
Sam Rothstein ran MAC qualifying times in the 800 meters to finish third and fourth. Ferrizzi crossed the line in 2:00.87 while Rothstein was right on his heels in 2:01.88.
Andy Loy and
Donnie Miller were also new MAC qualifiers in the mile. Loy ran a 4:37.90 while Miller had a time of 4:39.80.
Eric Shelton ran a MAC qualifying time of 16:29.45 in the 5000 meters.
The Dutchmen saw more strong performances in the 60-meter hurdles as
Zach Reed,
Daniel Murtha, and
Kadan Smith all qualified for the final and finished second, fourth, and fifth. Reed ran 8.52 seconds in prelims and then finished second in the final with a time of 8.38 seconds. Murtha finished his preliminary race with a time of 8.63 seconds and then ran 8.68 seconds in the final. Smith qualified for the final with a time of 8.90 seconds and then finished fifth in the final with a time of 8.79 seconds.
Ayden Stankus won his third consecutive meet in the pole vault with a height of 4.25 meters (13'11.25").
Josh Otto was third in the long jump with a mark of 6.19 meters (20'3.75") on his fourth jump.
Daniel Sheffield finished fourth with a jump of 6.15 meters (20'2.25") on his sixth attempt.
Will Fisher finished third in the shot put with a toss of 14.18 meters (46'6.25") on his fifth throw.
Trey Reynolds was fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 14.97 meters (49'1.5") on his third toss.
INTO THE RECORD BOOKS
Reed's career best time of 8.38 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles moves him up to third from fourth in the record books. Murtha also moved up to sixth from seventh with his career best time of 8.63 seconds.
Owen Linder ran a time of 37.60 seconds in the 300 meters which is second all-time in program history.
Donovan Goundie ran a time of 38.42 seconds which is sixth. Murtha ran a career best time of 39.07 seconds which sits seventh in the event.
UP NEXT
The Dutchmen will head to New York City next Friday to compete at the world-famous Armory in the NYU DIII Invitational.
