Men’s Ice Hockey Earns Conference Point at Wilkes

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Mark Kishko scored the game-tying goal in the third period as the Lebanon Valley men's ice hockey team earned a conference point with a heart-breaking 4-3 overtime defeat at Wilkes University on Friday at the Toyota SportsPlex in Wilkes-Barre.

Wilkes took a 2-0 lead with a goal late in the first period and then another goal six minutes into the second period. LVC started the comeback effort late in the second as Blake Tosto scored a power play goal with 2:04 on the clock off assists by Cameron Croteau and Darion Benchich. Harris Blackwood evened things up less than a minute later with an unassisted score.

In the third period the Colonels retook the lead six minutes in. The Dutchmen fought hard to tie the game back up and were rewarded at 13:19 of the period as Kishko lit the lamp. Neither team was able to score the rest of regulation and the game headed to overtime. Wilkes began the overtime period on the power play which the Dutchmen were able to successfully kill. LVC went on the attack coming out of the penalty kill and Jordan Stear had his shot saved. The Colonels picked up the loose puck and used an odd-man rush to score the game-winning goal.
