Dutchmen Men’s Tennis Stay Unbeaten With Win Over Susquehanna

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College men's tennis team finished off a 3-0 week with a dominating 8-1 win over Susquehanna University on Sunday afternoon at the Shankroff Tennis Center in Annville. The win was the program's 10th consecutive home victory dating back to last spring.
 
The Dutchmen (3-0) started off hot winning all three doubles matches for the first time this season. They proceeded to win five of the six singles matches with Susquehanna's (2-2) lone win coming at number three singles in a very tight match.
 
Inside the Box Score
  • Jeffrey Bauer and Brendan Byler continued their strong play at second doubles with a dominating 8-1 win to record the first point of the day. The duo won all three of their matches this week.
  • Jesse Beck and Jacob Erb were next to finish at number three doubles with an 8-3 victory. The duo won their second match of the weekend playing together.
  • Justin Schuetz and Adam Warren fought back from an early deficit to win their first doubles match 8-6.
  • Byler won his second straight match 6-1, 6-1 at number five singles to improve to 5-0 on the season.
  • Michael Schuetz clinched the match victory with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at number six singles to improve to 1-1 in duals this fall.
  • Beck finished moments later with a 6-0, 6-3 win at number four singles to cap a 3-0 week for the first year.
  • Justin Schuetz improved to 5-0 in singles this season with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at number one.
  • Warren picked up a 6-4, 6-2 victory at number two singles to round out the Dutchmen points.
  • LVC has won their last three meeting with Susquehanna and have won 8-1 the past two times the teams played at the Shankroff Tennis Center.

The Dutchmen will be off until September 30 when they will compete at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships hosted by Drew University in Madison, N.J.
