ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College softball team will be one of five teams in the field this weekend at the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Softball Championships hosted by Alvernia University in Reading. Action will get underway with four games scheduled on Thursday.
 
The Dutchmen finished in a three-way tie atop the conference standings in the regular season and were awarded the third seed in the tournament based off tiebreakers. Messiah University is the top seed while York College of Pennsylvania is seeded second. Fourth-seeded Stevenson University and fifth-seeded Eastern University will play in the first game on Thursday. LVC and York is scheduled for a 12 p.m. start as the second game. A full tentative schedule of games and ticket prices are below.

LVC had one of the top batting averages in the conference and one of the top earned run averages. Their .324 average is second while their 2.12 ERA is also second. The Dutchmen have 10 batters who are hitting above .300 led by Lexi Smith at .365. Smith has 38 hits including two double, a triple, and a home run at the top of the lineup. Danni Holmes is batting .364 while Kylie Balthaser is hitting .360 and leads the team with 29 RBIs. Balthaser also leads the team with nine doubles and two home runs. Sam Burns and Julia Craig lead the team in hits with 43 with Burns batting .358 and Craig hitting .339. Craig is second on the team with 25 RBIs. Lindsey McCurdy leads the squad with 27 runs scored and has a .347 average while hitting five doubles, six triples, and two home runs. Morgan Comfort is batting .352 and has stolen a team-leading 26 bases this year. Anna Marie Hockman has been hitting the ball well lately and enters the weekend with a .333 average and two home runs. Jordan Hess has blasted two home runs and has a .318 average.
 
Jordan Walter has been one of the top pitchers in the conference this season striking out 86 batters in 129 innings pitched. She has a 13-5 record with three saves and a 1.36 ERA. She has pitched 16 complete games and four shutouts. Erin Sinatra is 10-3 this season with 75 strikeouts in 81.2 innings pitched. She has a 2.66 ERA with eight complete games and four shutouts. Alicia Gotts has also seen action in the circle for the Dutchmen this year recording a 3.73 ERA in 30 innings.
