Men’s Tennis Wins Fourth Straight Match

READING, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College men's tennis team won their fourth straight and improved to 2-0 in conference play with an 8-1 victory at Alvernia University on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Dutchmen (9-5, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth) won two of the three doubles matches and then swept singles. Alvernia (3-2, 1-1 MAC Commonwealth) posted their lone win of the match at number two doubles.
 
Inside the Box Score
  • Justin Schuetz and Adam Warren won 8-1 at number one doubles for their third straight victory together. At number three doubles Jeffrey Bauer and Brady McLucas earned an 8-5 win. The duo has now won all four doubles matches they have played this year.
  • Schuetz won his singles match 6-1, 6-0 in the top flight for his fourth straight win. Brendan Byler won 6-1, 6-1 at number four singles to improve to 7-7 in dual matches on the year with his fourth straight win.
  • McLucas won at fifth singles 6-3, 6-1 to improve to 12-1. Michael Schuetz is now 9-5 on the year after a 6-2, 6-2 win at number six singles.
  • Bauer won his number two singles match 6-4, 6-2 for his fourth straight win. It took Warren three sets to win at number three singles. He improved to 8-4 with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 win.
  • The Dutchmen are now 12-2 against Alvernia since the Golden Wolves joined the MAC in 2008. LVC has won the last eight matches including the past four by identical 8-1 tallies.
Who's Next
Lebanon Valley will be back on the road this Sunday for a big conference matchup at Stevenson University. The Dutchmen and Mustangs were picked to finish first and second in the conference this year with Stevenson looking to repeat as Champions.
