ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College men's tennis team opened Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play with their third straight sweep. The Dutchmen defeated York College of Pennsylvania 9-0 on the courts of the Shankroff Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Dutchmen (8-5, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth) won their third straight match against the Spartans (0-4, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth) without dropping a set.
Inside the Box Score
- Justin Schuetz and Adam Warren teamed up in doubled to win 8-3 at the top flight. In the second flight, Brendan Byler and William Harriger won 8-2. Jeffrey Bauer and Brady McLucas won 8-4 in the number three doubles flight.
- Byler was dominate in his singles match winning 6-1, 6-1 at number four. He has won his last three singles matches dropping just six total games in the process. Warren won 6-2, 6-2 at number three.
- Bauer won 6-4, 6-2 at number two singles while Michael Schuetz earned a 6-2, 6-4 victory in the number six flight.
- McLucas continued his strong play with a 6-1, 7-5 victory at number five singles to improve to 8-1 this spring. He has won his last five matches.
- Justin Schuetz won his top singles match 7-5, 6-2.
- The Dutchmen are 3-0 against the Spartans since York joined the conference last year and have swept both matches in Annville including a 5-0 win in last year's MAC Commonwealth quarterfinals.
Who's Next
LVC will hit the road for a 3:30 p.m. match in Reading on Tuesday against Alvernia University, The Dutchmen will then travel down to Stevenson University on Saturday.
