ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College men's lacrosse team used another complete team effort to cruise to a 19-9 victory over King's College on Friday night under the lights of Arnold Field.
Trey Ralston and
Jake Bollinger led the offense with four goals each.
The Dutchmen (5-4) jumped out to a big first quarter lead scoring all nine goals in the first 15 minutes of play led by an
Alex Kiviniemi hat trick. LVC scored first in the second quarter to make it 10-0 before King's (0-7) got on the board at 11:53. The Dutchmen held a 14-2 lead going into halftime and then outscored the Monarchs 4-1 in the third quarter. King's fought back in the fourth quarter and outscored the Dutchmen 6-1 in the quarter to set the final score.
Inside the Box Score
- Ralston and Bollinger had big games scoring four goals each. Bollinger recorded his second consecutive four-goal game and has now scored 11 goals in two career games against the Monarchs. Ralston scored four goals for the second time this year.
- Kiviniemi recorded his fifth hat trick of the year on just five shots. The junior leads the team with 21 goals. Carson Frey had a season-high five points on two goals and three assists.
- Colin Hughes had two goals and an assist for the second straight game to record his fourth multi-point game in a row. Nick West scored his first career goal in the fourth quarter. Garrett Evans had a goal and an assist while Liam Hogan scored his second career goal.
- Ben Weathersby had a huge game on defense with seven ground balls and two caused turnovers. The junior scored in the second straight game after causing a turnover, picking up the ground ball, and then bringing the ball up the field firing a shot into the back of the net in the third quarter.
- Gavin Porter was great on faceoffs once again for the Dutchmen winning 14 off 17 attempts.
- The Dutchmen outshot the Monarchs 19-1 in the first quarter and 50-28 overall.
- LVC has now won the last three meetings with King's and improved to 6-3 in the all-time series.
Who's Next
The Dutchmen head into conference play with a two-game winning streak. LVC will be back on Arnold Field Wednesday with a 4 p.m. game against Hood College to open the MAC Commonwealth slate.
