SELINSGROVE, Pa. –
Trey Ralston scored a season-high four goals and added an assist to lead the Lebanon Valley College men's lacrosse team to a hard-fought 17-10 defeat at the hands of host Susquehanna University on Wednesday night on Sassafras Field in Selinsgrove.
Colin Hughes also had a big game with three goals and one assist.
Susquehanna (3-4) used a 6-0 run in the fourth quarter to pull away from the Dutchmen (3-3). The River Hawks took a 4-2 lead into the second quarter and scored the first three goals of the period before LVC went on a 5-0 run to tie the game going into halftime. Susquehanna scored the first three goals on the second half and then LVC scored three of the next four to cut the deficit to 11-10 with 13:12 remaining in the game.
Inside the Numbers
- Ralston scored once in the first quarter, once in the second, and then two times in the third on eight total shots. The first year recorded his second hat trick of the year and now has three multi-point games.
- Hughes scored all three of his goals and added an assist in the second quarter run to tie the game up at halftime. He recorded his first career hat trick in the process.
- Jake Bollinger continued his point and goal streak with two goals and an assist. He has scored in every game this year and has two goals in each of the last three.
- Carson Frey tallied a team-high three assist. Ben Weathersby led the defense with eight ground balls.
- The Dutchmen forced 18 turnovers while only committing 16. Lebanon Valley cleared the ball well as they were successful on 19 of 24 attempts.
Who's Next
LVC will be back on the road this weekend with a trip up to Misericordia University in Dallas. The opening faceoff on Mangelsdorf Field is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday.
