Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Franchi Earns Shutout, Men's Ice Hockey Downs King's

HERSHEY, Pa. – Lebanon Valley goalie Ty Franchi earned his first career shutout and the offense provided plenty of firepower to defeat King's, 3-0, on Friday, Feb. 4 in United Collegiate Hockey Conference play at Hersheypark Arena.

LVC has picked up a point and is unbeaten in its last four games.

After a scoreless first period, Blake Tosto put the Dutchmen on the board at 11:36 of the second period, taking a pass from behind the net and knocking it home.

Just three minutes later, thanks to a strong effort in their offensive end, Darion Benchich made it a 2-0 game with helpers from Cade Freer and Brad Viola.

Alex Borowiec put the Dutchmen ahead 3-0 with a power play goal at 1:28 of the third.

Inside the Numbers
  • Tosto scored his team-leading ninth goal of the season and has at least one point in four of his last six games.
  • Franchi remains unbeaten as a Dutchman, with three wins and a tie in his first four career starts.
  • Seven different Dutchmen earned a point in the game.
