YORK, Pa. –
Collin Jones scored his 1,000th career point and
Zach Tucker added a season-high 27 points to lead the Lebanon Valley College men's basketball team to a 73-65 victory in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Play-In game on Monday evening in York's Wolf Gymnasium.
The Dutchmen used a strong second half outscoring the Spartans 41-24 over the final 20 minutes. Jones, who entered the game needing 21 points to reach 1,000, became the 38th Dutchman to reach the career milestone with 3:17 to go in the second half on a driving layup to give LVC a 64-56 lead.
Inside the Numbers
- After shooting 34.3% in the first half, the Dutchmen shot an outstanding 51.9% in the second half to finish 41.9% from the field.
- Jones finished with 21 points and six rebounds and was a huge factor in the second half and down the stretch with 14 of his points coming in the final 20 minutes of action.
- Tucker had his third consecutive game in double figures and was just three points shy of his career-high.
- The Dutchmen locked down on defense in the second half allowing just seven total field goals by the Spartans.
- LVC took care of the ball committing just four turnovers while forcing York to make 15.
- Payton Lewis was the third Dutchman in double figures with 10 points while Luis Garcia added nine.

The Dutchmen will travel back to St. Davids, Pa. to face top-seeded Eastern on Wednesday. The Dutchmen dropped a 76-72 thriller against the Eagles last Tuesday in their final regular season game. Tip-Off on Wednesday is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
