WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Nine different Dutchmen recorded a point as the Lebanon Valley College women's ice hockey team closed out the regular season with a 4-1 victory at Wilkes University on Sunday afternoon in a United Collegiate Hockey Conference and Middle Atlantic Conference battle.
The win earns the Dutchmen a season sweep over the Colonels. It also gives LVC their eighth win of the year and seventh conference win, both of which are program records.
Grace Mayer started the scoring in the first period with a power-play goal four seconds into the opportunity.
Olivia Cindrich won the faceoff knocking the puck to the boards where
Cheyenne Wilk passed to Mayer. Mayer then shot a bullet through traffic and into the back of the net for her second goal of the season. The scoring continued in the second period as
Jade Julius tapped in a rebound for her first goal of the year. In the third period,
Victoria Scurto scored short-handed and
Katie Pounder scored her third goal of the weekend to give LVC a 4-0 lead. The Colonels scored with 25 seconds left to set the final.
Inside the Numbers
- Lebanon Valley qualified for the first postseason berth in program history and will play in the UCHC Quarterfinals on Wednesday.
- LVC improved to 4-1-1 all-time against Wilkes and won for the first time in Wilkes-Barre.
- Abby Radcliffe had an assist to give her a team-leading seven on the season. She is one assist away from tying the program record.
- Olivia Magneson made 37 saves in goal to earn her second win of the year. The sophomore held the Colonels scoreless on five penalty kills.
- The teams were even in number of shots through two periods of play before Wilkes took three more shots than the Dutchmen in the third period to finish with a 38-35 shot advantage.
- The Dutchmen recorded a season-high 11 points on four goals and seven assists

Lebanon Valley will travel up to Rochester, N.Y. on Wednesday for a UCHC Quarterfinal game against seventh-ranked and top-seeded Nazareth College.
