ANNVILLE, Pa. – Junior
Carson Frey led the Lebanon Valley College men's lacrosse team with three goals in a hard-fought 19-6 loss to ninth-ranked Franklin & Marshall College on Saturday afternoon in the season opener for both team on Arnold Field.
The Dutchmen played the Diplomats very tight early on through the first quarter but F&M was able to start pulling away in the second quarter outscoring LVC 7-1 in the period. The youthful Dutchmen never gave up and battled hard the whole game.
Inside the Numbers
- Two Dutchmen scored their first career goals in their first collegiate games including Trey Ralston who scored the season's first goal just over a minute into the game to give LVC a 1-0 lead. Garrett Evans also scored his first goal of his career.
- Frey now has 37 goals for his career and is inching towards 50 career points with 47.
- Jake Bollinger took a team-high seven shots and had one goal and one assist with three ground balls.
- 12 different Dutchmen played in their first collegiate games including three who started.
- Senior nick Serrano made 13 saves in goal.
Who's Next
The Dutchmen will be on the road for two games this week starting on Wednesday with a trip to Bethlehem to take on Moravian at 3:30 pm on John Makuvek Field. The Greyhounds will be playing their season opener against LVC.
