ANNVILLE, Pa. – Kate Fitzpatrick equaled her career-high with 26 points for the Lebanon Valley women's basketball team in a tough 77-60 defeat to visiting Moravian University on Saturday afternoon inside Sorrentino Gymnasium.
The Greyhounds (5-5) jumped out to a 5-0 lead and outscored the Dutchmen (5-5) 21-10 over the first 10 minutes of the game. LVC tied the game at nine following a pair of free throws by
Elise Balmer with 3:36 to go but Moravian ended the quarter strong with a 12-1 run. The Greyhounds increased their lead to 13 points to begin the second before
Cristina Fernandez and
Samya Santiague sandwiched a Fitzpatrick layup to bring the lead down to five points at 25-20. The teams traded buckets the rest of the half until Fitzpatrick knocked down back-to-back jumpers in the final minute to go into the locker room with Moravian leading 34-31.
LVC came out of the locker room and held the Greyhounds off the board for the first 2:30 of the quarter while
Riley Hevelow knocked down a pair of free throws and Fernandez scored on a layup to give the Dutchmen their first lead of the game. The teams traded layups over the next three possessions as Moravian retook the lead 38-37 with just under seven minutes to play in the quarter. The Dutchmen tied the game at 39 on a
Kailey Eckhart layup before Moravian went on a 7-0 run to take a 46-39 lead.
Daelyn Stabler and Fitzpatrick hit jumpers in the paint to cut the lead down to three before two free throws gave the Greyhounds a five-point advantage at 50-45 going into the final quarter. The Greyhounds continued the run scoring the first six points of the fourth quarter to take an 11-point lead. The Dutchmen fought back and brought the lead down to eight points at 62-54 with a little over five minutes left on a Fernandez layup but that was as close as they would get.

- Fitzpatrick equaled her career-high of 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds while dishing out four assists. She also scored 26 points against Eastern last January.
- Stabler finished with six points, a team-high nine rebounds, and four assists.
- Fernandez scored nine points and grabbed five rebounds. Riley Hevelow chipped in seven points.
- The Dutchmen shot 34.4-percent from the field. LVC dished out 12 assists, their second-most of the season.
