Franchi Makes Career-High 53 Saves Against Nazareth

HERSHEY, Pa. – Ty Franchi was a brick wall in goal for the Lebanon Valley men's ice hockey team on Saturday afternoon with a career-high 53 saves against Nazareth College at Hersheypark Arena. The visiting Golden Flyers scored two power-play goals and an empty net goal at the end of the game to defeat the Dutchmen 4-2.

LVC got on the board first in the game as Jackson Legro sent a long clearing pass down the ice. Blake Tosto raced the puck down and buried a shot past the goalie for his second goal of the year. Tyler Fittro gave the Dutchmen a two-goal advantage at 13:28 of the period with a bullet from the right side off assists from Brad Viola and Cameron Croteau. Nazareth scored a power-play goal at 14:00 of the second period and then added a goal 1:20 later to tie the game up. The teams traded blows throughout the rest of the period and the beginning of the third until the Golden Flyers capitalized on a 4-on-3 power-play opportunity with their third goal of the game. LVC fought back looking for the game-tying goal but after pulling the Frenchi in the final minute for an extra attacker, Nazareth was able to shoot the puck into the empty net to set the final score.
