Fitzpatrick Leads Women’s Basketball With 12 Points Against Elizabethtown

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Kate Fitzpatrick scored in double digits for the fifth consecutive game to begin the year as the Lebanon Valley women's basketball team dropped a hard-fought 66-44 decision to undefeated Elizabethtown College on Tuesday evening inside Sorrentino Gymnasium.
 
The Dutchmen (2-3) got off to a great start scoring eight of the first 10 points of the game. The Blue Jays (4-0) responded with a 13-2 run over the final five minutes of the quarter to take a 15-10 lead. LVC started the second quarter the same way as they began the game with a 5-0 run over the first 1:21 to tie things up. Elizabethtown responded with the next 10 points to go up 25-15 at the halfway mark of the quarter. The Blue Jays outscored the Dutchmen 10-2 the rest of the half to take a 35-17 lead.
 
LVC cut the lead down to 12 points behind four straight points from Fitzpatrick. The Blue Jays kept the pressure on the Dutchmen and took a 51-33 lead into the final quarter after the teams played even for the third quarter with each scoring 16 points. The Blue jays outscored the Dutchmen by four points in the fourth quarter.

  • Fitzpatrick scored 12 points and had five rebounds in 32 minutes of action.
  • Riley Hevelow poured in nine while Daelyn Stabler had seven.
  • Samya Santiague was a force on the boards with a team-high eight rebounds.
  • The Dutchmen shot 34.5 percent from the field while scoring 20 points in the paint. 
Up Next
The Dutchmen will be off for Thanksgiving break before returning to action next Wednesday against Albright in the conference opener. Tipoff against the Lions will be at 8 p.m. inside Sorrentino Gymnasium.
