Harder Records Second Double-Double Of Season Against Elizabethtown

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Ryan Harder had 11 points and 13 rebounds for his second double-double of the season for the Lebanon Valley men's basketball team in a tough 62-60 defeat to Elizabethtown College on Tuesday evening inside Sorrentino Gymnasium.

The Dutchmen went down to the wire for their second game in a row and had a chance to win in the final seconds as Ryan Harder found space for a three-point attempt on the right wing that just missed going through the net bouncing off the rim and back onto the court as time expired. LVC and Elizabethtown battled back and forth all night with four lead changes and eight ties in the game. The Blue Jays built the largest lead of the game at 20-10 following a jumper with 8:10 to go in the first half. The Dutchmen went on a 17-7 run over the next five minutes to tie the game at 27. They would take a 35-27 lead with 1:15 left in the half before Elizabethtown closed the half on a 7-0 run to take a 34-32 lead.

Elizabethtown opened the second half strong taking a 42-34 lead with 15:28 left. LVC used a big 7-2 runs fueled by five points from Collin Jones to cut it to a three-point game. The teams traded buckets until Jones knocked down a huge three with 6:57 left to make it a one-point game at 53-52. The senior tied the game at 56 with a pair of free throws with just over five minutes left. Payton Lewis and Harder hit jumpers in the paint to keep the game tied before the Blue Jays scored the final two points of the game with 1:30 left. The Dutchmen got stop with 29 seconds left and called a timeout to set up the final play. LVC worked the ball around the perimeter before getting Harder open with a good look.
