SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Payton Lewis had a career night for the Lebanon Valley men's basketball team scoring 30 points against Susquehanna University in Houts Gymnasium on Friday evening. The host River Hawks defeated the Dutchmen 94-86 in a high-scoring contest.
The Dutchmen used strong shooting out of the gates by Lewis and
Kegan Hertz to build a 14-9 advantage. The River Hawks used the long ball to go on a 18-0 run over a five-minute span to take a 13-point lead. The Dutchmen fought back and cut the advantage to four following a
Kyle Tang three-pointer with just over seven minutes to go in the half. The teams battled back and forth the rest of the half with Susquehanna taking a 48-41 lead into the break.
Lewis and Hertz continued their hot-shooting night in the second half bringing the Dutchmen to within four at 51-47 in the first couple of minutes. Susquehanna countered the LVC run with a run of their own to take their biggest lead of the game at 76-55 with 11:26 to go. The Dutchmen slowly cut into the lead and brought the lead back under 10 points with 35 seconds left following a dunk by Hertz.

- Lewis shot 9-14 including making six threes and a perfect 6-6 at the line to finish with 30 points. He also added four assists.
- Hertz recorded a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
- Kyle Tang dished out six assists and scored 11 points.
- LVC shot a season-high 49.2 percent from the floor while dishing out 16 assists.
- The Dutchmen had 17 points off turnovers and 13 second chance points.
