READING, Pa. – Emily Kline found the back of the cage for the third time this season as the Lebanon Valley field hockey dropped a hard-fought 3-1 defeat to host Alvernia University on Wednesday evening in Reading.
The teams played a scoreless first quarter with LVC (7-8, 3-3 MAC Commonwealth) holding a 3-1 shot advantage. Alvernia (10-5, 4-2 MAC Commonwealth) scored in the 19th minute off a penalty corner attempt to take the lead. They would capitalize on another penalty corner late in the half to take a 2-0 lead into the break. The Golden Wolves added to their lead in the third quarter with a goal in the 37th minute. The Dutchmen fought right back and got on the board in the first minute of the fourth quarter as Kline scored off a penalty corner insertion by
Hannah Shirey.

- Kline has now recorded a point in three consecutive games. The junior scored her fifth career goal. She also had a defensive save in the game.
- Shirey recorded her first assist of the year and third of her career.
