FREDERICK, Md. – The Lebanon Valley women's basketball team fell just short in its comeback, dropping its Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth contest, 49-46, at Hood on Wednesday, Jan. 5.Â
Kate Fitzpatrick scored a season-high 19 points to lead the LVC attack.
How It Happened
- The Dutchmen jumped out of the gate, building a 16-11 lead after the first quarter as Fitzpatrick scored 10 of her 19 points in that stretch.
- Kennedy Kuffa scored all seven of her points in the second quarter as the teams battled evenly with Hood taking a 29-28 lead into the locker room.
- Hood charged hard in the third, outscoring the Dutchmen 14-4 and pushed the lead to 43-32.
- The Dutchmen flipped the script in the fourth, scoring 14 points to the Blazers' six. LVC pulled to within three after a three-point play by Fitzpatrick with 1:01 to play. Hood's Marlise Newson added an insurance basket to help close out the win.
Inside The Numbers
- Daelyn Stabler scored eight points and grabbed four rebounds, while Kuffa tallied added eight boards, four assists, and four blocks to go with her seven points. Kuffa has at least three blocks in her last three games.
- Morgan Anderson led Hood with 16 points, and Newson also hit double digits with 10.
- LVC moves to 7-7 (2-3 MACC) on the season. Hood improves to 5-6 (2-2 MACC).

The Dutchmen take on Albright College in Sorrentino Gymnasium on Saturday, Jan. 8. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
