Collin Jones led all scorers with 29 points as the Lebanon Valley men's basketball team lost a tight game at Hood, 89-83, on Wednesday, Jan. 5.Â
Payton Lewis set a career-high with 18 points all coming from behind the arc.Â
Zach Tucker with 14 rounded out the Dutchmen scorers in double digits.
How It Happened
- The Dutchmen hit five three-pointers en route to staking a 20-14 advantage midway through the first half.
- Hood pulled ahead 29-28 after a three-pointer and layup by Mason Wang, who finished with a team-high 27 points. The Blazers led 37-33 at the break and stretched the lead to as many as 10 in the opening minutes of the half.
- Lewis drilled three of his three-pointers in a three-minute span to key a 14-7 run and draw the Dutchmen with 50-47 at 15:45.
- Hood rebuilt its lead, pulling ahead 70-59 with nine to go. The Dutchmen charged once more, pulling to within four, 79-75 with 3:16 to play, but a 6-0 run by the Blazers sealed their win.
Inside The Numbers
- Seven Dutchmen combined to make 17 three-pointers, setting a new LVC single-game record for three-point field goals made.
- Jones corralled 11 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season. He made a career-best 13 of 15 free throws.
- Hood scored 34 points in the paint. LVC registered 18 second-chance points.
- LVC is now 5-7 (2-3 MACC) on the season. Hood improves to 7-4 (4-0 MACC).
