ANNVILLE, Pa. –
Jevon Griffin swished the game-winning three-pointer as Lebanon Valley men's basketball edged York 59-55 on Wednesday, Jan. 26 in a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth matchup in Sorrentino Gymnasium.
With the teams tied at 53-53, Griffin drained an open three on a kickout from
Collin Jones to put LVC ahead 56-53 with 1:25 remaining.
After a rebound basket by York's David Giuliani cut the lead to one,
Evin Timochenko cleaned up a rebound under the basket to reinstate the three-point margin.
Griffin came up clutch again, rebounding a York miss and hitting 1-of-2 at the free throw line to seal the win.
Jones returned to his double-double ways with a team-high 20 points to go with 11 boards.
Zach Tucker scored a season-high 19 points, while Timochenko scored nine points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
Inside the Numbers
- LVC got the win with just five players putting points on the board. Tucker and Jones combined for 39 of the team's 59 points.
- Jones is up to eight double-doubles on the season.
