GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Women's Basketball team picked up a non-conference victory over Arcadia in a defensive slugfest 50-44 on Sunday afternoon. The Dutchmen improve to 7-5 on the season while the Knights drop to 3-9.

How It Happened
  • Neither team was particularly efficient on the offensive end in the first quarter as the two sides combined for just 16 points on 7-for-37 shooting. The Knights held a slim 10-6 lead after one quarter.
  • The defensive struggle would carry over into the second quarter but the Dutchmen would cut the first-quarter deficit in half as LVC trailed by just two at the intermission.
  • The second half was where LVC started to get some rhythm on the offensive side of the ball. After a quick 10-2 run by Arcadia to open the third, LVC would respond with a 12-2 run of their own to close out the third and bring the score tied at 32 apiece. Cristina Fernandez knocked down a pair of three-pointers in that third quarter to pull LVC back even.
  • In the fourth, the Dutchmen trailed 34-32 before LVC rattled off 12 unanswered point to grab their first lead since early in the first period and push the lead out to double digits at 44-34 with 4:48 left in regulation. LVC would hold off the Knights who didn't get closer than four points the rest of the way and would pick up the 50-44 win.
