ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Men's Basketball team dropped an 86-60 contest at the hands of Susquehanna in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon. The Dutchmen fall to 5-6 on the year while the River Hawks improve to 8-3.
How It Happened
- The River Hawks came out of the gates quickly jumping out to an early 8-2 lead. LVC trailed for the entire opening half but kept themselves within striking distance for a majority of the first 20 minutes. With LVC trailing by just four, Susquehanna closed the period on a 12-3 run to push their lead at halftime to double digits at 39-27.
- In the opening minutes of the second half, LVC would claw their way back within three points at 44-41 following an impressive 14-5 run including 13 consecutive points.
- Susquehanna would answer the Dutchmen run with 10 straight points to push their lead back up to 13 at 54-41 with 13:02 remaining.
- LVC would be unable to pull off another big run and Susquehanna's offense continued to roll throughout the second half as the River Hawks would eventually down LVC 86-60.
Inside The Numbers
- Collin Jones led all scorers with 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Payton Lewis was the only other Dutchmen to finish in double figures as he chipped in with 11.
- Dominic Dunn led a balanced Susquehanna offense with 16 points including hitting 4-of-8 from three-point land.
- Jay Martin finished with 10 steals. The River Hawks had 21 steals as a team.
- The Dutchmen committed 27 turnovers while Susquehanna had just 13 giveaways.
- The Susquehanna bench outscored LVC 43-9.
Who's Next?
The Dutchmen continue conference play their next time out as they travel to Hood College to take on the Blazers on Wednesday night. Game time is set for 8 p.m. in Frederick, Md.
