How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's Field Hockey team dropped a 5-1 decision to No. 4 Kean University on Thursday evening at Arnold Field. The Flying Dutchmen fell to 2-7, while the Cougars stayed perfect and moved to 10-0.
First Quarter
- Kean got on the board early in the first when Jorja Hibschman received a pass from the right side from Maddison Gonzales and snuck one through the legs of Corinne Kearney for the 1-0 advantage.
- Then, with 1:46 to go in the first, Danielle Alba evened the score at 1-1 after putting home a rebound with a hard shot.
- Just 25 seconds later, however, Hibschman scored again for the Cougars, this time off a tip from a shot by Lia DiPiazza to give the visitors a 2-1 lead after an exciting period of action.
Second Quarter
- After a offensive output from both teams in the opening quarter, each team's defense locked down the offenses in the second, as neither team generated many scoring chances. Kearney did need to make four saves in the second and the Dutchmen saw themselves down by just one at 2-1 heading into halftime.Â
Third Quarter
- 3:50 into the third, Kean separated itself from LVC off Krista O'Grady's goal off a pass from Jordan Thompson that was tipped. Less than six minutes later, the Cougars made it a 4-1 game thanks to Thompson's tally from Ja'Carra Jackson.
Fourth Quarter
- Early in the fourth, Kean put the game out of reach when Peyton Mann's shot from the middle of the box found the back of the net. The Cougars' defense held strong from there, resulting in the 5-1 final score.

- Alba netted her first goal of the season this evening.
- Alana Antonello and Rachel Wright each registered a shot on goal.
