YORK, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Field Hockey team dropped a 6-0 contest at York (Pa.) in the first ever meeting between the two as MAC Commonwealth opponents. The Dutchmen fall to 2-8, 1-2 MACC on the year while the Spartans jump to 8-2, 2-1 MACC.

How It Happened
  • The Spartans offense was clicking early as they tallied a trio of goals in the opening 9:43 of the match. York recorded a pair of redirected goals at the 1:50 and 2:37 mark to jump ahead early and would add the third at the 9:43 mark to hold a 3-0 advantage after just one quarter. That score would hold through half time as the Dutchmen offense struggled to gain any momentum in the opening two periods.
  • Just 49 seconds into the third quarter, York added another goal, again on a redirection.
  • The Spartans would add two more goals and the LVC offense was held scoreless as the Dutchmen fell 6-0 in conference play.
Inside The Numbers
  • York's Hannah Huffman scored a pair of goals and added two assists for the Spartans.
  • The Spartans held a 17-4 shot advantage and 12-2 on goal. Eight of the 17 shots for York came in the opening quarter.
  • Corrinne Kearney made six saves in net for the Dutchmen.
  • York had an 11-1 advantage in corner opportunities.
Who's Next?
The Dutchmen have a quick turnaround as their next contest is on Monday when LVC travels to take on the Elizabethtown Blue Jays. Game time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. in Elizabethtown.
