How It Happened
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's Field Hockey team scored twice in each of the first two quarters en route to a 4-1 victory over Elizabethtown on Monday afternoon in non-conference action. The Flying Dutchmen improved to 3-8, while the Blue Jays dropped to 5-6.

First Quarter
  • In the early stages of the game, LVC generated a penalty corner in E-Town's end. Seconds later, Sarah Leidich netted her first goal of the season thanks to an assist from Emily Kline to make it 1-0 in favor of the visiting Dutchmen.
  • With 1:40 left in the opening period, Alana Antonello scored off a rebound to make it 2-0 LVC.
Second Quarter
  • Just 3:42 into the third, the Dutchmen increased their advantage to three when Jenna Angstadt scored the first goal of her young career that made it 3-0.
  • With just 59 ticks left on the clock in the second, Rachel Wright netted her third of the season, giving LVC a comfortable 4-0 lead heading into halftime.
Third/Fourth Quarters
  • The Blue Jays finally got on the board in the third period when Grace Hardy scored her 10th goal of the season after a crossing pass from Grace Hussey.
  • That's the closest E-Town would get, as Corinne Kearney and the Dutchmen's defense kept the Blue Jays' offense off the scoreboard for the remainder of the game.

  • Kearney made five saves in 45 minutes of action to earn the win.
