ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Women's Soccer team were bested by Gettysburg College 2-0 on Wednesday afternoon. The Dutchmen fall to 2-5-1 on the season while the Bullets improve to 5-1-1. Today concluded the non-conference portion of the LVC's schedule, except for a rescheduled contest with Moravian at the end of October.

How It Happened
  • The Bullets controlled possession for a majority of the early portion of the contest and would strike quickly when Erika Muskus curled a left-footed shot into the left side of the net just 5:14 into the match to give Gettysburg the early lead.
  • The Dutchmen offense had a tough time getting any momentum as they managed only three shots in the opening half compared to Gettysburg's 11. The Bullets held possession in LVC's defensive half for a majority of the half but the Dutchmen defense held strong keeping the game just a one-goal contest at the break.
  • Gettysburg again scored early in a half as they found paydirt just 2:42 into the second session. Muskus would receive a pass from Molly O'Shea and rocket a right-footed shot into the left corner to double the Bullets advantage.
  • The Dutchmen did a better job of creating offensive chances in the second half but were unable to crack a stingy Gettysburg back line as LVC fell 2-0.
Inside The Numbers
  • Gettysburg's Erika Muskus scored both goals in the contest.
  • The Bullets held an 18-9 shot advantage and 9-3 on target.
  • Jocelyn Umana made four stops in net while Maddie Cunningham made three saves for the Bullets.
Who's Next?
The Dutchmen begin MAC Commonwealth play in their next match as they host Albright College this Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. at Herbert Field.
