ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Women's Soccer team opened up conference play with a resounding 4-1 victory over Albright on Saturday afternoon. The Dutchmen improve to 3-5-1, 1-0 MACC on the season while the Lions fall to 5-4-2, 0-1 MACC.

How It Happened
  • The Lions got the scoring started in the 7th minute taking advantage of a corner kick opportunity. Autumn Bieber would play the corner toward the back post where she found the head of Diza Hasanj who put Albright ahead early.
  • After multiple scoring opportunities by the Dutchmen throughout the first half, LVC would draw a penalty kick chance at the 42:17 mark. Jessica Lingenfelter would bury the PK to tie the game up 1-1 right before the half. The score would remain deadlocked into intermission.
  • LVC came out of halftime and picked up right where they left off with a pair of goals early in the second frame. Lucy McGloshen gave the Dutchmen their first lead in the 51st minute followed by a Maddy Hartman tally just over four minutes later to double the advantage.
  • In the 70th minute, Darrian Berkheimer would find the back of the net on a breakaway to put the nail in the coffin as the Dutchmen opened up MACC play with a 4-1 rout over the Lions.
Inside The Numbers
  • Maddy Hartman recorded her second goal of the season in the win. Lucy McGloshen, Jessica Lingenfelter, and Darrian Berkheimer all added their first goal on the year. For Berkheimer, the goal was the first of her career.
  • LVC dominated all afternoon long, outshooting the Lions 25-3 and 15-1 on target.
  • The Dutchmen also held a 9-2 corner kick advantage.
  • LVC tied their season-best with four goals while also setting season-highs in shots, shots on goal, and corner kicks.
Who's Next?
The Dutchmen will travel to take on Widener their next time out for their first road conference contest on the year. Game time in Chester, Pa. is slated for 7 p.m.
