ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Men's Soccer team pitched their third shutout of the year and goals by Lucas Strange and Zach Reed lifted LVC to a 3-0 win at Elizabethtown on Wednesday evening. The Dutchmen improve to 7-1 on the year while the Blue Jays drop to 5-2-1. This was the end of the non-conference slate for LVC except for a bout with No. 25 Franklin & Marshall that was rescheduled for the end of October.

How It Happened
  • The Dutchmen offense wasted little time getting LVC ahead as Lucas Strange put the visitors on the scoreboard just 3:27 into the contest. The Dutchmen would control play for a majority of the first half as they held a commanding 9-2 shot advantage for the opening 45 minutes, however the Blue Jay defense would not allow LVC to add to their first-half lead as the score remained 1-0 into halftime.
  • LVC continued their barrage of shots in the second half, firing off 11 total in the final stanza. In the 51st minute, Peter Foerster would find Zach Reed who would blast a shot into the back of the net to double the Dutchmen lead. Just over five minutes later, Strange would tally his second goal of the game to give LVC a comfortable 3-0 lead.
  • The Dutchmen defense would stifle Elizabethtown all night long as they allowed only two shots on net as LVC shutout Elizabethtown 3-0.
Inside The Numbers
  • Lucas Strange netted two more goals, his second multi-goal game of the season. He has now scored in six of the eight games this season.

  • LVC held a dominant 20-8 shot advantage and 10-2 on frame.
  • The two teams combined for 23 fouls, 14 against the Blue Jays and nine on the Dutchmen.
  • Coming into tonight's game, LVC was ranked No. 8 in Region V, while E-Town was No. 7.
