ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Men's Soccer scored the most goals in a single game in nearly 12 years in the Dutchmen's 7-1 blowout win over Albright in their MAC Commonwealth opener on Saturday afternoon. The Dutchmen improve to 8-1, 1-0 MACC on the season while the Lions fall to 3-6-1, 0-1 MACC.

How It Happened
  • The Dutchmen offense was clicking all afternoon long and it took just 3:35 for LVC to get on the board when Lucas Strange netted his first of two goals to put the Dutchmen ahead early in the match. Just over seven minutes later, Aidan Negron would add another Dutchmen goal and in the 11th minute LVC found themselves with a controlling 2-0 lead.
  • The Lions would get one back in the 16th minute when Yaniv Gonyoe dribbled through the Dutchmen defense with some nifty footwork and was able to calmly slide the ball into the back of the net to cut the Albright deficit in half.
  • In the 33rd minute, LVC would respond when Anderson Velozwong played a beautiful ball through the Lion back line to find a streaking Braydon Shuck who snuck the ball inside the left post to push the Dutchmen lead back up to two.
  • The first half barrage wasn't over yet as LVC would score a pair of goals in a 47 second span to put them up 5-1 before halftime. Charlie McCormick and Kevin Donahue would find nylon less than a minute apart and the Dutchmen were in complete control through the first 45 minutes of action.
  • Lucas Strange came out of halftime and added his second goal in the 49th minute as he just ran by the Lion defense and finished off the breakaway opportunity, making the score 6-1. In the 62nd minute, Peter Foerster would find Aaron Weitzel who would beat the keeper in a one-on-one chance just inside the far-right post for LVC's seventh and final goal of the game.
Inside The Numbers
  • The seven goals by the Dutchmen offense were the most this season and the most in program history since October 27, 2019 when LVC topped King's (Pa.) 7-4.
  • LVC set season-highs in points (21), goals (7), assists (7), shots (24), and corner kicks (10).
  • Lucas Strange had his second consecutive multi-goal performance and now has 10 goals on the year, tied for the conference lead.
  • Braydon Shuck, Kevin Donahue, and Aaron Weitzel all scored their first goals of the season. For Donahue and Weitzel, those goals were the first of their careers.
  • Charlie McCormick continued to be a spark off the bench with his fourth goal, good for second on the squad.
  • The Dutchmen outshot the Lions 24-5 and 12-2 on target. LVC held a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Who's Next?
The Dutchmen are back on the pitch in a few days when they continue conference play on the road at Widener University on Tuesday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Chester, Pa.
