RADNOR, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Women's Soccer team used a goal in the opening minute to top Cabrini University by a score of 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Dutchmen improve to 2-4-1 with the win while Cabrini drops to 2-4-1.
How it happened
- The Dutchmen came out of the gates hot as Sierra Young scored just 14 seconds into the contest finishing off an assist from Madison Carper.
- The rest of the half was a defensive struggle between the two teams neither team able to score for the final 44:46 as the game remained 1-0 into halftime.
- The second half was controlled by Cabrini as they outshot LVC 7-0 in the final 45 minutes but the Cavaliers were unable to convert on any of their shots as the Dutchmen defense held serve and picked up the 1-0 shutout victory.
Inside the numbers
- Sierra Young recorded her first career goal in the win.
- Madison Carper dished out her first assist on the season.
- Jocelyn Umana made four saves to record her second clean sheet on the year.
- The Cavs outshot the Dutchmen 11-4, including a 7-0 advantage in the second half.
