How It Happened
  • The first set opened with the two teams trading punches before the Chargers would run off five straight points to grab an 11-6 lead. Late in the set, similar to the opening set, LVC would go on a four-point run to grab a late 22-19 lead. The Chargers would draw even at 23-23 before LVC tallied the final two points to clinch the set victory and grab a commanding 2-0 overall lead.
  • The Chargers would put together a strong start to the third set that would lead to a 20-13 advantage for the visitors towards the end of the set. The Dutchmen would claw their way back to even after an 8-1 run at 21-21. LBC would take the final three points to win the set 25-23 and extend the match to a fourth set.
  • The fourth set was back-and-forth once again with the score tied 14-14 before the Dutchmen would run off six straight points. The Chargers battled back to within two but would get no closer as LVC won 25-22 and the match 3-1.
