CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Women's Soccer team dropped a 1-0 defensive struggle at DeSales on Tuesday afternoon. The Dutchmen fall to 1-4-1 with the loss while the Bulldogs remain unbeaten at 7-0.
How It Happened
- The game began as a defensive struggle with neither team able to find the back of the net through the first 45 minutes. DeSales held a slim 7-5 advantage in shots in the opening half but the game was scoreless into halftime.
- Just 4:25 into the second half, the Bulldogs would get on the board. Natalie Dorsheimer would send a cross in from the wing and Kerrigan de Meij was there at the back post to head the ball home and give DeSales a 1-0 lead.
- Neither team would be able to score for the remaining 40 minutes with LVC getting close to an equalizer when Madison Carper hit the crossbar in the 81st minute but the Dutchmen would fall 1-0.
Inside The Numbers
- The Dutchmen outshot the Bulldogs 18-10 for the game and 7-5 on target. LVC also outshot DeSales 13-3 in the second half.
- LVC put four shots on goal in the second half and DeSales could only manage one, but that one found the back of the net.
- Both teams finished with ten fouls.
- DeSales held a 6-3 advantage in corner kick opportunities.
Who's Next?
The Dutchmen are back in action this Saturday when they travel to take on Cabrini University. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Radnor, Pa.
