ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's Men's Tennis team picked up a 7-2 victory over DeSales in the team's first action during the fall portion of their schedule. LVC sets at 1-0 while the Bulldogs drop to 0-1.
The Dutchmen won a pair of doubles matches to grab a 2-1 lead before singles play. At the top doubles spot,
Justin Schuetz and
Adam Warren picked up a tight 8-6 victory. In #3 doubles,
Michael Schuetz and
William Harriger grabbed a win via tiebreaker 7-6 (8-6).
In singles play, the Dutchmen picked up five wins in the six matches to clinch the overall team victory. J. Schuetz won a three-setter at #1 singles. After dropping the first set 6-3, he would battle back with a 7-6 win in set two and then a 10-6 in the final third set.
Jeffrey Bauer and Warren each picked up three-set wins at #3 and #4 singles respectively. Both dropped the first set in a tiebreaker before winning the final two sets. M. Schuetz and Harriger picked up staright-set wins at #5 and #6 singles to wrap up the 7-2 team win for the Dutchmen.
