ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's Esports program began its 2021-22 season by competing in numerous events last week. The Flying Dutchmen took part in various preseason events, as well as regular-season games.
In preseason action,
Jacob Layton,
Andrew Seneca,
Jon Lam, Alex Sarris, and
Claudio Hernandez competed in NECC Valorant League action and dropped a 1-0 match to St. Clair before defeating Lees-McRae 1-0.
Then, in NECC Rocket League Preseason paly,
Mason Garza,
Dylan Lower, and Matthew Keilholz blanked the University of Rio Grande 3-0. Garza, Lower, and Brycen Geiger then shutout Columbia College (Mo.) 3-0 in Rocket-League action.
In the Dutchmen's final preseason game, a team of Jacob Marsh, Jack Moskowitz, David Palmer, Joseph Beidler, and
Syryth Mitchell dropped a 1-0 decision to Champlain College in Rainbow Six Siege and a 1-0 game to Oswego State.
Garza, Lower, and Geiger fell to RIT in NACE Varsity Rocket League action by a 3-1 margin on Sept. 7, while LVC's Call of Duty squad, made up on
Andrew Kierce,
Ethan Filbert, Bryson Zvoncheck, and Arthur Dragomir, defeated Stockton University 3-1 in NACE Varsity play.
The Dutchmen's Overwatch team, consisting of
Jacob Triano,
Benjamin McDonnell,
Colin Brophy,
Logan Matter,
Grayson Rule, and Cooper Vohs, fell to Messiah 3-0 in NACE Varsity action.
Finally, LVC earned a huge win in CS:GO on Sept. 10 when Connor Hirons,
Brandon Kemmery,
Brandon Bauer,
Dustin Haberstumpf, and
Trent Petro came back from a game down and won the next two to defeat Ryerson University 2-1.
