ABINGTON, Pa. – The Flying Dutchmen recorded their second straight shutout win with a 2-0 victory at Penn State Abington on Saturday afternoon. LVC improves to 4-0 on the year while the Lions drop to 1-2.  
How It Happened
  • The Dutchmen got on the board in the 19th minute when Lucas Strange netted the first goal of the contest. LVC would take the 1-0 lead into halftime.
  • LVC controlled play in the second half as they held an 8-3 advantage in shots in the final 45 minutes. The Dutchmen defense also was dominant in the second half as they didn't surrender a single shot on goal in the half.
  • Charlie McCormick would add an insurance goal in the 76th minute of play to double the Dutchmen advantage. LVC would go on to win by that 2-0 score.
Inside The Numbers
  • Lucas Strange scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season, it's also his second game-winner.
  • Charlie McCormick scored his second goal in as many games for the Dutchmen.
  • Sean Quirk recorded a clean sheet, saving the only two shots he faced all afternoon.
  • LVC held a 16-8 shot advantage, including 8-2 on target.
Who's Next?
The Dutchmen return home their next time out as they continue their non-conference portion of their schedule. LVC welcomes Gettysburg College to town on Wednesday afternoon, game time scheduled for 4 p.m. at Herbert Field.
