How It Happened
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's men's lacrosse team dropped a 17-5 contest at the hands of the 13th-ranked Stevenson Mustangs on Wednesday afternoon. The Dutchmen drop to 4-3, 1-2 MACC on the year while Stevenson improves to 3-0, 1-0 MACC.

The Mustangs didn't wait long to start scoring as they needed just 34 seconds for Cam Leydig to find the back of the net and give Stevenson a lead they would never relinquish. Stevenson would jump out to a 5-0 lead before Kyle Golden got LVC on the board with just 21 ticks left in the first quarter. The Mustangs would answer with a goal of their own with just one second before the end of the period to take 6-1 lead into the second.

Stevenson controlled play in the second scoring four goals and keeping LVC off the board and led 10-1 at intermission. Evan Crawford would tally LVC's lone goal of the third quarter and the Dutchmen found themselves 15-2 with just 15 minutes left to play. The Dutchmen would show some fight in the fourth with three straight goals from Josh Croyle, Alex Kiviniemi, and Carson Frey but LVC would eventually fall 17-5.

Inside The Numbers
  • Five different Dutchmen recorded goals in the game and Evan Crawford added an assist with his goal to lead the offense with two points.
  • Nick Serrano recorded his second-most saves in a single game with 20 stops in net for LVC.
  • Shane Ford led the Mustang attack with five goals followed by Connor Nelson who netted four scores.
  • Stevenson put 37 shots on goal compared to 13 for LVC.
  • The Mustangs won 21-of-25 faceoffs. They also were successful on 21-of-24 clear attempts while LVC converted 17-of-26 clear attempts.
Who's Next?
The Dutchmen return to action this Saturday to take on another ranked opponent when they travel to battle with No. 3 York (Pa.). Game time in York is scheduled for 1 p.m.
