ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's men's tennis remained perfect on the season with a dominant 8-1 victory over Alvernia on Saturday afternoon. The Dutchmen improve to 5-0, 2-0 MACC on the year while the Golden Wolves drop to 0-5, 0-2.
In doubles play, LVC picked up two wins with the #2 and #3 teams picking up victories. At second doubles,
Ben Hinkley and
Luke Senft cruised to an 8-1 victory after Alvernia took the #1 doubles match. LVC would win the doubles play with
Jonathan Yenser and
Samuel Miller picking up an 8-4 win.
The Dutchmen were strong in singles play sweeping all six matches. Hinkley took the top singles match 6-4, 7-5 and
Brendan Byler edged out a 6-3, 6-2 win at the second singles slot. At #3 singles, Senft put together a 6-2, 6-3 victory and
Jeffrey Bauer swept his #4 singles match. At #5 singles,
Nicholas Simon won the opening set via tiebreaker at 7-5 before cruising 6-0 in the second for the straight-set victory. Yenser wrapped up the singles sweep with a 6-1, 6-0 win at #6 singles.
