ANNVILLE, Pa. – Over the past few weeks, Lebanon Valley's Esports program has competing in several matches across the platforms of CS:GO, Valorant, League of Legends, Call of Duty, Rocket League, and Overwatch.
Also, earlier this week, the NAC announced that Lebanon Valley's Hearthstone squad is ranked in the top-10 in their latest rankings.
In Hearthstone action, a team of
Eli Jones and
Wyatt Morrison earned a 3-0 victory over Keiser University on March 2, followed by a 3-1 win over Marian University on March 9.
In CS:GO action,
Robbie Bonnaci,
Brandon Kemmery,
Brandon Bauer,
Nikolai Neufeld-Kreider, and
Dustin Haberstumpf blanked Arizona State University 1-0 on Feb. 24, followed by a 1-0 setback at the hands of the University of Kentucky on March 2. The team bounced back on March 7 with a 1-0 win over Temple University, but dropped a 1-0 decision to Davenport University the same night. Finally, the squad took down Randolph-Macon College 2-0 on March 9.
LVC's Valorant team posted a 1-1 record in their last few matchups, as on March 2, a team on Bonnaci, Neufeld-Kreider,
Jacob Layton,
Andrew Seneca, and
Jon Lam fell to Worcester Polytechnic Institute 1-0, but took down the University of British Columbia – Okanagan 1-0 on March 10.
In their lone match, on Feb. 27, LVC's League of Legends team, consisting on
James Zilinski,
Claudio Hernandez,
Kaleb Longenecker, Lam, and
Evan Nguyen, blanked College de Bois-de-Boulogne 2-0.
In Call of Duty play, a team of
Bryan Towers,
Ethan Filbert,
Andrew Kierce, and
Chris DeClerico defeated Army 3-0 on March 2, but dropped a 3-0 decision to Concord University. LVC bounced back after their loss to Concord with a 3-0 win over Seton Hall, however.
A team of Alex Cowden,
Mason Garza, and
Ki Shon fell to Rowan 3-0 on Feb. 27 in Rocket League action, and then were dropped by the University of Michigan 3-1 on March 5.
Finally, the Dutchmen's Overwatch team of
Jacob Triano,
Benjamin McDonnell,
Colin Brophy,
Logan Matter,
Grayson Rule, and
Isaiah Reid, fell to the University of Utah on Feb. 27 at 2-1 and Queens College by the same score. Then, on March 6, LVC blanked Georgia Tech and West Chester 2-0 and continued to dominate the competition on March 13 when the Dutchmen shut out the University of Colorado and Long Beach State University 2-0.
