How It Happened
HERSHEY, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley women's ice hockey team dropped a 6-1 contest at the hands of Chatham on Saturday evening. LVC falls to 0-7-1 while the Cougars improve to 5-3 on the season.
After a scoreless first period, the Cougar offense caught fire, specifically Allison James-Corser who went on a tear scoring all four Chatham goals in the period. James-Corser scored the first two goals early in the second period just 59 seconds apart to put LVC in a quick 2-0 deficit. She would add a power play goal around the midway point of the frame and would finish the period off with one final goal in the final few minutes.
In the third, James-Corser would score her fifth goal of the game before
Katie Pounder would get LVC on the board just after the ten-minute mark of the third. Chatham would add one final goal to officially finish off the Dutchmen 6-1.
Inside The Numbers
- Katie Pounder recorded her first goal of the season. Sloane Herrera picked up her first assist while Abby Radcliffe registered her team-leading fourth helper on the year.
- Allison James-Corser scored five goals in the win, giving her eight goals in the two games against the Dutchmen this season.
- Chatham outshot LVC 40-25 for the game.
- The Cougars held a small 40-37 advantage at the faceoff dot.
- The two teams combined for nine penalties.
